Breast reduction in Turkey: scars, recovery and how long to stay
Breast reduction removes breast tissue, fat and skin to make the breasts smaller, lighter and higher – often to relieve neck, back and shoulder pain. It takes 2–4 hours under general anaesthetic with usually one night in hospital, and most surgeons ask you to stay about a week in Istanbul. Expect 2–3 weeks off desk work.

Key facts
Typical ranges for a healthy adult (sources at the bottom of the page). Your surgeon or dentist sets your own plan after examining you.
What it is
The surgeon removes glandular tissue and fat, reshapes the breast, removes excess skin and moves the nipple higher. Most reductions use an anchor-shaped (inverted T) or vertical scar. Liposuction may be added to refine the sides. Because the nipple stays attached to its blood supply in most techniques, sensation is usually preserved, but not always.
Techniques
Anchor (inverted T)
The most common pattern for larger reductions.
Vertical (“lollipop”)
Shorter scar for moderate reductions.
Liposuction-only reduction
For selected patients with fatty breasts and good skin; limited reduction.
Free nipple graft
For very large reductions; the nipple is removed and grafted – sensation and breastfeeding are lost.

The technique, the volume removed, the hospital and the package contents determine the price. Ask whether liposuction and garments are included.
